(DISQ) Doctors Interpersonal Skills Questionnaire
Thousands of general practitioners, GP registrars, nurses and other health professionals have benefited from the information provided by their
Interpersonal Skills Questionnaire ISQ results. DISQ has been used and trusted for nearly a decade by Australia and UK clinicians who want clear patient views. It is deemed flexible
enough to be used in a variety of professional contexts - hospitals
as well as general practices. DISQ has also been used by health
professionals who work in the community.
DISQ has been recognised by Regional Training Providers (RTP) as an important learning tool for GP registrars.
What is DISQ?
DISQ is a fully validated patient tool. It is designed to give
health professionals feedback on their interpersonal skills during
consultation.
It contains just 12 items and takes around 2 minutes for patients to
complete.
How does it work?
DISQ questionnaires can be given to patients by receptionists,
administration staff or clinicians themselves. The questionnaire is
accompanied by a sealable envelope so that patients can be confident
that they are being asked anonymously. Return is usually by ballot
box on site – although other modes of collection can be easily
arranged.
We generally require 25 completed questionnaires per clinician.
What you get
We provide a report exclusively and confidentially to clinicians.
It includes all written comments, summary tables (with demographics)
and graphs. Results also contain benchmark scores from other
clinicians. Support material to help with understanding and acting
on these results is included.
360 degree Feedback
Results can be used by GPs and other doctors as part of a full multi-source feedback (MSF) activity. See 360 Feedback for more details.
